My Cousin |
They found my cousin yesterday. (Thank you Linda for the heads up.) A Wal-Mart employee recognized them in Maryland. She was to be released to her family today. I am assuming that has gone as planned. When they found her she told authorities that she was not going home and if they made her she would kill herself. From what I am getting from my dad is that it is rough at home. All the kids are homeschooled and cut off from everything but church and run a farm. I can kind of understand how she is feeling. My mother was very controling of us but at least we did get to go to public schools. I can't imagine never getting to be around your peers. I knew a family in Arizona who homeschooled their kids and purposely didn't teach them to read so that they would not be able to read the newspapers and read all the bad stuff that goes on. Oh, there were phone calls made, but they were within their rights was all my MIL was told. Sometimes people take good things and make horrible things out of them. Anyway, at least authorities are aware that there is a problem there and she will get counseling from what my dad said.
Later. God bless. Teressa. |

Happy to hear that at least her wherabouts are now known. Yeah, sometimes people just take things way too far. It sounds like the parents have just gone way overboard.

Glad she was found.
Also, not homeschoolers are like that. Most of us go to great pains to make sure our kids are properly socialized.

What a sad situation. But the good news is she was found.
Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting! :) Ma
