Tornados
Sunday night we had bad storms. A town about 15 miles from us was destroyed. Eighty-five percent of it is gone they say. My sister-in-law's mom and dad's house and their rental house was demolished. Thankfully noone was killed there. Most people were at church. That is where Brandi's, my SIL, mom and dad was at. They go to the Church of Christ and they were all in the basement. The First Baptist Church was damaged but noone hurt there either. The area looks like a bomb went off there. It is so sad. There was a 3 year old wandering down a street after the tornado hit and he could not tell anyone who he was or who his parents were. I haven't heard anymore on that story. At town not too far from there there was a fatality and people critically injured. The town there was destroyed too. It just eased it's way north of us. We were very fortunate. I hate these storms, yet in a way they facinate me. They are so random. This storm however cut a path across 2 counties in Arkansas, 2 counties in the bootheel of Missouri and into Tennessee, moving on across the country. It seemed like the same tornado just meandered along though it did lift and come back down. In Dyer county Tennessee it killed 23 people and left 17 critically injured, devasting that area. With the mild winter I fear that we are in for a very volatile storm season. Yes, we can get these storms anytime of year but not like from March to May. Please pray for those affected by this tragedy.

Later. God bless. Teressa.

So good to hear from you & that you & family are safe. I'm sorry about the house of your family, but happy to hear they're all safe. I'll keep the area in my prayers. Stay safe.

I saw all this distruction on the news and am so happy you and your family. I'm sorry your relatives lost their home but at least they were not there, but were safe in the church basement. Do you guys have a safe place, an inner room where everyone would be safe in such a storm? The weather is crazy here lately. Must be the global warming....hugz, Linda

    Hi Theressa,
I just discovered your blog and I really like your earthy style. My Dad is originally from Arkansas and I have visited. I remember fields of mustard seed flowers, or at least that's what they told me they were. Anyway, I thought I would say Hi! I hope you have a great day!
    Sincerely,
    Tart

We had quite a bit of rain and wind two nights ago....fortunately nothing more than that. The weather seems to be getting more severe every year.

    Stopped by via BlogMad.
