Back Once Again To Missouri...So we head off to Missouri. But this time close to St. Louis. Our plans are to stay with my sister and her family until Gary got a job and we had enough to get a place of our own. Living with my sister was a nightmare. She is so different from the rest of the family. Lives above her means and thinks she is better. It finally came to either I stayed there and have a nervous breakdown from all the fighting that went on between her family or leave. We chose to leave and go to a shelter. Gary got a job with Wally World. We stayed in the shelter for 45 days and then we had enough to move on. We got an apartment in a new apartment complex. From one nightmare to another. The manager was ridiculous. I mean to the point that I went on xanax to deal with her. Clay was not allowed to play outside with his toys, he could not ride his bike except on a 3x100 strip of grassy area behind the manager''s office. We were not allowed to smoke out side, her words were verbatim "If you smoke outside do not exhale", it was a new rule put out. New rules kept coming. She then said that if we seen any cigarette butts outside we were to pick them up, if they were around our apartment we got cited even if they were not ours. That led me to call an advocate and them help me to find the owner and how to contact him. I had to send all the notes that I had been keeping in a journal, and all the notices that she posted on our doors. I was going through a secretary. I was getting no where, until one day a man calls me and tells me that he is the owner and that he don''t usually handle things like this but he had a note on his desk telling him to take care of it, lol. I asked him if he had read the stuff I sent and he told me no. So, I told him to read everything and then call me back. He called me back in 3 days and was appalled at what he seen. Then action was took. The manager of the complex could of lost her job but I suggested maybe she needed training in people skills, lol. So, she had to go to training and leave me alone. We finally moved from there to what I now call my home town. Shortly after leaving we got information that the manager had been shipped to Texas, lol. Clay was affected by it all too. It was the first time I seen his depression. He was 7 at that time. It was so sad. I am thinking moving was not helping him either but things just happened. He was still excelling in school. Now home town here we come. April 7, 2005 9:52 PM |
