Max
I haven't spoke much of what is going on with my step-father, Max, lately. It is very hard to talk about but I think I need to talk now. I shared it with Lisa the other night and felt OK.

So, he went for his check-up with the cancer doctor in St. Louis. He got sick while there and ended up in the ER before his appointment. They ran a bunch of blood tests but found nothing at the time. There were tests that they would have to wait on. The next day he goes to his cancer doctor appointment as scheduled and then goes home. About 3 days later, not sure on that time line though, they called my mom at home and said that they had to run a scan on Max's genital area. Lymph nodes and such. Now this was just suppose to be a regular check-up with the cancer doctor and this is not sounding good. They set up a time for the scan and Max goes and has it done. They found that his lymph nodes are swollen and now they are going to have to do a biopsy on them. We are now waiting for the people to call with the appointment time for the biopsy. The wait is killing me, as well as my mother and especially Max. But wait you do with the Veteran's Administration. Max told my mom that he knows it is cancer. He can feel it and he hurts. I guess the pain is like that he had with the penile cancer. I feel so bad for him. He looked like a wounded puppy when I went up there to see them. My mom says that is the way he is all the time now. It is not good if this has gone into the lymph nodes. It is very scary. I just pray, that is all I can do. I know that God's will will be done and that I can't be selfish in this matter but it doesn't make it painless.

Later. God bless. Teressa.

Oh Teressa, I'm so sorry. I hope Max's feeling is wrong and it's not cancer. And waiting is the hardest thing to do!
I will keep you, Max and family in my prayers.

I'm a cancer survivor since 12 years back and yes, the wait for test results is always the worst part, both for the patient and the family.

I do hope that this isn't as bad as it seems though. Nodes can get swollen for a lot of reasons.

Oh Teressa don't pay mind to the idiot above. He/she/it is going around leaving nasty notes on peoples blogs. You don't need this.

I feel so sorry for your step-Dad. He has been thru so much. But live others above say, nodes become swollen for many reasons, it doesn't have to be cancer. I know that doesn't help with the waiting, we have all done the waiting and each minute seems like a day. You are doing the best thing you can, to pray for Dad. I'll say a prayer for him too...hugz, Linda
