Baby And We...Man I tell you. It was not a happy place right after they brought me to my room. Well, the first few moments were. They brought Clay into me and I barely remember it because of the remenants of the anesthesia. I do remember looking down at him in awe. He was the cutest thing I had ever laid eyes on (of course!). Then I passed out again. When I came to the baby was back in the nursery and thank God, cause I was mad. I was in so much pain and the drip was not working. When the anesthesia wore off I felt it. I was cussing anyone within 2 feet of me. They could hear me at the nurses station and they came down. I told them that whatever they were giving me was not working and to do something about it. I did not say it that nicely. The nurse told my family to leave and not come back that night. That made me madder. I mean, kick my family out! Oh boy. They wouldn''t listen to me about the drip. Then they finally contacted the doctor and he ordered them to increase the dose and voila! I was a happy camper after that. Showed them that I knew what I was talking about and to next time listen. I have a high tolerance to morphine we found out. To this day it is the same. I have been on Oxy, and Duladid and it does nothing for me. Anyway, I had Clay at 1:40 and at 5:46 I was walking down the hall. Like I said, after they increased the dose, I was fine, and I am not one, at that time, to just lay around and do nothing, so I got out of bed and when I went out of the door the nurses freaked. They could not believe that I was up and I was like, what is wrong with this?, they said that they usually had to make the women get out of bed after the c-section. I told them well I wanted to weigh myself, lol. I just knew that I had to have lost at least 20 lbs, having a baby that weighed the same as 11 lbs, you would think. So I went my way down the hall and got on the scales, I had lost a whopping 8 lbs! I was disgusted. What is wrong with this picture? I asked myself. I went back to my room and just cried. I had gained so much during the pregnancy that I expected for it to come off. Not to be.
I got my baby and then I was happy again. It was such a wonderful feeling. He was so big. It was like giving birth to a 3 month old, in fact he came home in a 3 to 6 mo old outfit. My husband had started his job and came by the next evening. He got home after my fit throwing and drank the 4 beers that were in the fridge. That was the end of that. Well, 2 days later the baby and I were released. Going home, :O . Since lifting limit was 10 lbs I could not pick Clay up. I had to have my mother or Gary hand him to me. Before leaving the hospital I was concerned about my incision. It was seeping a yellow liquid which they told me was normal. Well, we came home on Wednesday and on Saturday I sat up off the bed in the morning and my belly busted open. We rushed to the hospital. I had abcessed and the infection caused my incision to bust. So, I went back into the hospital. I was so upset. When Gary had to leave with my baby I cried so bad. I cried and cried and cried. They kept telling me that I had to stop because it would slow the healing. Well, evidently this happened right when the baby blues hit and everything was a mess. I did calm myself down because I wanted to get back home to my baby. Come to find out I cannot ever have staples put in me after surgery, my body reacts to foriegn objects. It is wierd but in 7 years I would find out a lot about why.
I finally got to go home and my weight limit was lifted and I could finally take care of my baby on my own. Gary had done such a wonderful job on his own. He learned to sterilize everything, change him, when to feed him, when to put him down, everything. Gary was a wonderful new daddy.
Later. Blog on and God bless.
