I was born in Missouri to a backwoods country mother and an alcoholic father. Good combination huh? We moved a lot, and I mean a lot. I went to 17 schools growing up. I am the oldest of 5 natural siblings, 1 step-brother, 1 step-sister, 1 half-brother, and a step-sister that I have never met, and I really suspect there may be more but I don''t know about them. At 6 my mother was pregnant with her 3 child and I got to watch her put an ice pick to her pregnant belly and threaten to kill herself and the baby. My father had been beating her. I also had to calm my brother down. My father beat my mother on a regular basis. That is when he was even home. I watched most of the beatings. I had to grow up fast and help take care of the kids as he left my mom in such an emotional hell. Also at 6 when I was in kindergarten, the teacher had to let me call home every day, I was unconsolable if I couldn''t, just so I could make sure that my mother and brother were still there and alive. At 6 is when my own emotional problems started. It is when I learned to worry about everything. It is when fear really took a hold of my life. You know, now days, if a child was in such a state as I was in kindergarten someone would have been called to look into it, but everyone at that time turned a blind eye. To be continued...... |
