How's it going? |
It is fine here. I seen the doctor on Friday and he confirmed the infection in my leg. I have been keeping it elevated and wrapped in a hot towel, then stuffed down in a garbage bag. Today there is no heat in the area and the swelling is down. I have been reading blogs this morning so it is a bit swollen right now but I can't just abandon the computer.
We got snow Friday. It was those big wet flakes. It was pretty coming down. It only stuck 2 and a quarter inches. No problem with ice or snow keeping us from getting out of the parking lot. I don't like snow for that reason but I love watching it and the sound outside after a snowfall.
My medicines are now becoming quite a pain. I went from taking 8 pills a day to 17 a day. I have a pill planner but some of these pills are horse pills and I am having to use 2 boxes for morning and 2 boxes for evening. This and he didn't even get me on my diabetes medicine Friday. I guess he is waiting to see how my sugar tests come out. Then I have run into a problem with the doctor. Well, it has been a problem but this time it is more frustrating and dangerous. He just won't listen. He doubled my Lasix but didn't increase my potassium. I have had problems with my potassium dropping too low. Not a good thing. I hate having to have a potassium drip. They are very painful and scary. He is waiting 2 weeks to see how I do. Two weeks can be way too long. I tried to tell them that I was concerned about that but they acted like it was nothing. I guess that since it isn't happening to them it is of no concern. My potassium better not drop dangerously before my appointment, that is all I have to say. I will throw a fit. It just pisses me off. I know my body from going through all this so many times. I told him when he put me back on the Lasix that the dose wasn't high enough, he didn't listen, now I am dealing with the results of that.
Clay and Gary are at church. I am so glad that Gary takes Clay every week. It is a very good thing. Too bad Clay can't depend on me for things like that. Gary went to the parent/teachers conference by himself. I doubt that his teachers remember I exist. He only has one childhood and I have messed it up. Nothing to do about it now though. I can't help what has become of me. Clay is a good kid. All the teachers raved over him again Thursday. I hope that his reputation follows him into Senior High.
Well I hope you are are doing well today. Take care.
Later. God bless. Teressa. |

Ahhhh sweetie, you are a great mom for Clay at home. He can depend upon you to always have someone to talk to or listen or love him. Not all kids have that. Some kids have parens that show up for all these events and pretend to be great parents and then are monsters at home. hehehe about Lost! There is lots of yumminess there! Take care!!!

Clay knows you are doing your best. He knows he is loved and that means more than anything else.
Eat bananas as much as you can stand. They are the best source of natural Potasium I know of. It certainly can't do any harm. . .
Hope your leg is doing better.
Love ya!!
HUGGSS!!

bullshit teressa you have NOT messed up his childhood at all...if anything clay has learnt compassion and empathy...traits that a lot of kids don't learn.

You are a good mom-don't judge yourself!

I am glad your leg is getting better, keep it elevated as much as possible (but you already know that, lol) I just can't stand when you tell medical people that you should know your own body and how it reacts to things and they don't even have the curtesy to listen, much less talk it over with you. It's a helpless frustrating thing to explain and not be heard. I would eat bananas like Lauren said, and I think oranges also have potassium. I don't know offhand what other foods have high potassium levels but I imagine the computer knows :) About Clay, he is lucky to have you home. Many kids around here are not supervised because their mothers are out working 2 jobs, not that they want to, but because they need the money to live on. Many times women think their teenagers are home safe when really their kids are hanging out elsewhere getting into trouble. He prob wouldn't say it but I bet he is glad you are home so if he needs help or just a chat he can depend on you to there. See how well he is turning out! You must be doing something right! Try not to worry, love&hugs, Linda

I agree with the others that you are a great mom. Being home and listening to your son will stay with him the rest of his life. He has certainly learned to be tolerant of problems and how to deal with them. Good kid. You don't have to worry one bit about your son.

Sounds like you havent done an altogether bad job with your son. His dad is doing what dads should do; be dads! You take it easy & take care of yourself so you can attend everything you feel you need to.
