Gonna give it a try
Going to try and post something. I am sorry I have been away for so long. I have just felt like crap either physically or mentally, one or the other, since the hospital. Been spending my time that I haven't been reading and commenting on blogs playing at Pogo.com. Gary got me a subscription to the site for Valentine's Day and I am loving it. I do still get bored with it more often than I use to but I have to say that it has kept my interest longer than anything in quite awhile.

I am dealing with the Medicare drug program now and the insurance company that I have to go with Medicare is being a pain. First it wouldn't cover the Klonopin, so we switched to Hydroxy Pam. Now they say they will not cover it. They don't cover Xanax either. It seems they don't want to cover anything like that and I really, really need it. Also, they won't cover my antidepressant. That is not good. I can't figure out what their beef is with Lexapro. Anyway, the doctor's office is suppose to contact them for me. I hope they are able to do something. I don't want to have to try another antidepressant. Yeah, I am still a bit depressed taking the Lexapro but it is not as bad as it could be. I think the reason for that might be the Depakote.

Clay and Gary have been doing well. Another 2 and a half months and Clay will be out of school. I have mixed feelings about it. All he wants to do is argue with me and I don't want to do that all day, every day. He is at the age where he thinks he knows it all. Makes me want to scream, and I do sometimes. Gary sleeps through it all so he has no idea what is going on. I just will pray that the summer is not how I am feeling it is going to be. Maybe the church will keep him occupied.

Thank you all for your words of support during my absence. It means a lot.

Later. God bless. Teressa.

The next time you hear someone say Government is Bad, get them on Medicare and show them what privatization can do for them.

I am on a private plan through Lynn's company. Even they have made my life hard in parts, like cutting off my psychiatry payments in the middle of last year.

Private industry exists to make a profit, not provide what its clients need.

Our illness should not be a political issue, but it has become one.

It's good to hear from you again!! No need for apolgies! I can't believe medicare doesn't cover Klonopin of Xanax - at least the generic forms of them. Those are inexpensive drugs. Can you Dr not give you samples of the Lexapro? Since I have no insurance, my pdoc gives me samples for my anti-depressant. Who knows what it actually costs. I do have to get the generic Xanax myself at the pharamcy and it's like $20-30 a month. Just depends on the dosage. I joined a new web ring on my blog for depressed people called "Chronic Blues" I don't know too much about it since I just joined. The link is down near the bottom of my blog after the pics if you are interested.
I don't envy you with a teenage son. I know I was a pain at that age. Try to enjoy the 2 months you have left!!! Take care!!

I knew you'd come back when you were ready! Welcome back! I hate insurance companies. They exist solely to take your money and then not pay out when the time comes. Then they have the nerve to act like your friend and that they are there FOR YOU, to help YOU. BS!

I think Prescription Solutions may cover Lexapro, but not Xanax. If you belong to Costco, you can buy Xanax 60 - 1 mg tablets for $11. I have Sierra RX & they cover my meds. You can go to Medicare's site, enter your meds & they'll show you the closest match to a company who will cover the most of your scripts.
    Hope this helps

Glad to see you posted, Teri, and sorry Medicare is giving you such a hassle about your pills. I get the generic form of Xanax and I am suprised they are giving you a hassle about it. It's no where near what the real Xanax costs. My insurance says if their is a generic form for any of my pills, that's what I have to get. I don't care, to me they work the same. There are some drug companies that will help people who are unable to pay for their medication. The dr. has to request the forms and they are from the people who make the pills you need. Maybe you could ask your dr. about it? I know when I had no insurance my dr, got me forms for Cardizem but around that time I got a job so I didn't persue it any further. Meanwhile I am so glad you feel up to posting. Hopefully they will have activites at church to keep the kids busy, VBS and that kind of thing. Can Clay get a small job somewhere? My daughter worked at McDonald's when she was 14. They restrited the hours because she was young but at least she was ableto make a buck or two for herself (and at least I knew where she was when she went to work..well I think I did,hehehehe)....hugz, Linda

Check out Humana Ins. if it is in your area. They work mostly with WalMart and are a good company. I know they provide drugs the others won't. Check with them.
    Hope you are feeling better.
    God Bless
